The Frederick County Soil Conservation District (FCSCD) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 George A. Nicholson, Sr. Memorial Scholarship β a program created to honor the legacy of Mr. Nicholson and support the next generation of leaders in agriculture, conservation, and natural resources.
Each year, this scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, agriculture, and a passion for preserving our natural resources. This yearβs recipients truly embody those values, and we are thrilled to support them as they pursue their education and career goals.

Annalise Abruzzese
Kansas State University β Parks Management and Conservation
Annalise is preparing to study Parks Management and Conservation at Kansas State University.
Jackson Savage
Garrett College β Natural Resources and Wildlife Technologies
Jackson will attend Garrett College, focusing on Natural Resources and Wildlife Technologies.
Luke Jolles
University of Maryland β Environmental Science and Technology
Luke is set to attend the University of Maryland, majoring in Environmental Science and Technology.
Megan Downing
Delaware Valley University β Agribusiness
Megan is currently attending Delaware Valley University, where she is studying Agribusiness.
